Us, the competition, how to compare.

Price is the most obvious comparison but it is not everything. For true value comparison, please consider the functionality, number of features, and time established (We first released LiBRARYSOFT in 1992 - and the price has not changed since 1992!). Particularly striking is a comparison of the total pricing structure - for instance, ask about networking more than 5 stations (we do over 1000 at no extra charge). Add all their costs together. Many systems do not offer some of the features we have, while other features such as Visual Trees are not currently sold by any library software company.

What is Data Hosting all about ?

In an ideal world, your library's well trained IT staff would simply use the LiBRARYSOFT Internet Module to present your data on the Net. For those who do not have such personnel, take advantage of our free hosting. For one year we will host the data on the Internet for no charge. At the end of the year, either use your newly acquired IT personnel, or for $249 we will provide hosting, support and LiBRARYSOFT upgrades for another year.

Hundreds or thousands of Workstations ?

Using tried and tested technology, you can distribute information to the dozens of workstations required by most libraries, or to hundreds or thousands of workstations if you need it. Nice to know you have the power to grow. (Extremely large installations may want the assistance of our consultants.)

Overdues by Voice, Email or Letter.

LiBRARYSOFT for Windows allows you to send you overdue or other notices in several ways. Using our voice mail package you can schedule automatic calling, refer to data fields from LiBRARYSOFT such as patron, item and others. Type in your own message and set the computer to call. The system contains an auto check that can be scheduled with the Internet to confirm that your computer clock time is correct. (You wouldn't want to call your library patrons at 3 AM due to an error in your clock!) The system can also e-mail overdue notices to patrons, either as a supplement to or replacement for printing copies for regular mail.

What is LiBRARYSOFT written in ?

LiBRARYSOFT is written in Delphi 7, Interbase, SQL server, C++, ASP, and on older versions Visual Foxpro, Foxpro and Interdev.

Library Consultants

Our consultants have performed successful installations and are very computer savvy. Their purpose is to assist you with installation, reporting, maintenance, training at any level you require. You probably will never need a consultant, but if you are busy and want that extra help, they are there.

Training with LiBRARYSOFT

LiBRARYSOFT staff or consultants can provide training, available by ½ day, full day or longer, depending upon your need. (We recommend you review our training CD first - you may find this is all you need to get started).

Barcode Readers and Inventory

You can purchase brand name barcode readers from LiBRARYSOFT. (These are a particularly good buy when bundled with LiBRARYSOFT - less than half the price of some of our competitors.) Portable barcode readers are particularly handy for inventory, as it saves bundling your computer onto a trolley, or finding a really long extension cord.

How does support work ?

For $149 per year, we provide technical support via e-mail (our preferred method), technical support staff on hand for direct telephone assistance, and access to our support website. Technical support can be purchased at any time - you will not be penalized if you miss a year. For that matter, if you only have a question or two a year, just e-mail it in even if you're not registered for support - we are likely to respond without mentioning support fees.)

Upgrades ?

We are always improving! Our ongoing and continuous upgrades can be downloaded from our support website or sent to you by mail, for $149 per year. There is no penalty if you miss a year or years between.

What about other languages ?

LiBRARYSOFT software can support any number of languages using a similar font, and up to two different unusual fonts at any one time. Say Ukrainian and English, or Viet manse and English, or Arabic and French, or Hebrew and Spanish etc.

Even $495 is too much.

We do provide significant discounts to libraries under financial limitations. It is why our price has not changed in 10 years. Explain your needs and let us see what we can do.

Who are we ?

New Generation Technologies Inc., the company that developed and publishes LiBRARYSOFT, began work in 1989 with the idea that small libraries needed a system with as powerful functionality as large libraries. Since then, the system has developed the ability to handle very large libraries as well, but our pricing has remained the same.
