 Printers/Labels

Reliability and Reasonable Price!

Printers

You can use any laser printer or ink jet printer to print receits. However if you have high volume and wish to save paper you may wish to purchase a receit printer.

You can use almost any receit printer however we have found the Epson printers ($399) to be the most durable and inexpensive to run. They are more expensive than other such printers but make up for it in longevity. If you have low circulation or favor other printers they should work fine with LiBRARYSOFT as controls are windows based rather than printer based.

Labels

You can print your own barcode labels and other labels with LiBRARYSOFT™ using easily available labels from office supply stores and and any of our recommended distributors such as BRODART CO, Highsmith, DEMCO or Librarystore.

Barcode labels: To print your own with LiBRARYSOFT™ use the Avery Dennision 5160 address label (or equivalent) found in all office supply stores.

Pros: Inexpensive - approx $12 per 3000 blank labels, can print with laser or ink jet printers. Print the title of item or Name phone number of your library.

Cons: Easily smudged by wet hands unless label protectors or tape applied to protect the label. Could be placed on inside back cover to add protection.

Pre-Printed Library labels: Available directly from librarysoft at a cost of $39 per 1000 labels (min order 3000 labels). Name phone number of your library can be printed at no cost on the label.

Pros: Almost indestructable, no label protector required, place anywhere on the outside of the book. Extremely difficult to remove. Tested by placing on the outside of car tires (still has not come off).

Cons: More expensive than printing your own labels.
